In this list you can find over 50 free skin textures that are extremely useful for all the Photoshop users. You can find high res images of animal, reptile and human skin textures. There are also some premade textures of unreal characters like monsters, dragons, aliens and so on.

Some people tend to make their own textures from scratch as you can see in this amazing list Texture Photoshop Tutorials. But sometimes these hand made textures are difficult to create and also don't look realistic enough. So the majority of the people use stock images that are free for personal and sometimes commercial use. The right thing to do is to check every image license just to be sure you use it in a right way.
